Troopers from the Middletown and Greenville barracks investigated a report of an assault at the Tamaqua Tavern located in Westtown on Saturday, Jan. 19.

The investigation revealed that a 43-year-old man had received serious injuries after being assaulted by three men. The victim will require several surgeries in an attempt to repair a severely broken jaw, according to police. He remains hospitalized at Orange Regional Medical Center.

On Tuesday, Jan. 22, after reviewing surveillance video and interviewing witnesses, investigators arrested Pearce Conway, 24, Patrick Conway, 25, both of Westtown, and Tyler Smith, 25, of Middletown.

All three were charged with first-degree gang assault (a Class B felony). Smith was additionally charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief, a misdemeanor.

The three were arraigned by Town of Minisink Justice Paul Lattimer and released on their own recognizance to reappear at a later date.
